Abstract
This research presents an observation of the Indonesian film industry amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic has impacted the film industry such that film workers, from directors to theater ticket booth attendants, have lost their jobs or suffered drastically reduced incomes. This research examines how the Indonesian film industry has attempted to sustain production throughout the pandemic by any available means. This research focuses on the various efforts and platforms of production that film workers and communities have engaged in to keep the industry afloat. These efforts are categorized and interpreted to show that although the pandemic has hit the industry hard, workers have found creative ways to survive and sustain the industry, albeit barely in some cases. In the future, these various means of survival may ensure the sustainability of the Indonesian film industry.
